I'm really not in the mood to write today...
As the two searched for Aberdine the party goers kept stopping them to talk to Amanada. Apparently a lot of them remembered her from Beth's last party. Amanda had to keep turning down root beers from the many boys who kept offering.
"You're rather famous here." Shannon joked.
"Don't remind me. For once I'd like to just blend in." Amanda lamented. "Come on, I think there's a lounge around here somewhere." Amanda pulled Shannon through the crowd to a nearly empty room. A couple of people were sitting around in a circle, a few on the floor. In one of the chairs sat Damien and on his lap sat Aberdine.
"Aberdine!" Shannon cried.
Aberdine looked up in surprise. "Hey, guys." She said as she stood up nervously. "I didn't know you guys would be here, let's go grab a drink." She quickly grabbed Shannon and Amanda and dragged them out of the room. She pulled them by the arms to the kitchen and handed them two ginger ales. "Damien and I are just friends. Nothing is going on."
Shannon and Amanda gave each other a non-believing glance.
"Sure you are." Amanda smiled. "We don't care."
"I think you guys make a cute couple!" Shannon said.
"Don't spread it around. I don't want people making a big deal about it. Now that he's in charge of the Event Planning Committee and I'm the Student Council President I don't want people to think I'm giving them special treatment." Aberdine looked around nervously. "Also, I kind of like my privacy."
"We won't tell a soul. Except maybe Eddie." Amanda laughed and walked off.
"I promise not to tell anyone." Shannon said. "Can I have something else. I'm not really a fan of ginger ale." She handed the pop back.
"Everything else is spiked, in case you were wondering." Aberdine said plainly. "Come on. Let's get back to Damien and his friends. I could use a friendly face with some intelligence."
