Shannon

Oh it took a while but I finally brought myself to write this next part of Shannon's Story

Shannon spent most of the night hanging around Aberdine, Damien and his friends. Damien's friends were actually rather friendly. She was having so much fun with two boys, one named Mike and the other named Jack, that she didn't notice that Aberdine, Damien, and the rest had disappeared leaving them alone together.

"Another ginger ale?" Mike said as he sat down and handed Shannon a fresh drink.

"Thanks!" Shannon said as she took a sip from the drink.

"I can't believe a cool chick like you is into video games." Jack laughed.

"I wouldn't say I'm INTO them into them. I've just played a few is all." Shannon admitted sheepishly. "Carl and I used to play them at this other girls house all the time."

"Who's Carl?" Mike asked. "Is he your boyfriend?"

"What? No!" Shannon objected almost spitting out her drink. "He's just a friend."

"You expect me to believe you're single?" Jack said sliding closer.

"Yeah. I mean, I like someone but it's not like we're dating," Shannon looked into her drink, "or like he even knows." she added shyly. "I don't even know why I'm telling you this!" Shannon blurted.

"Hey," Mike sidled closer "if he hasn't noticed you yet, forget him."

"It's getting kind of warm in here." Shannon said, standing up. "I need another drink." Shannon stumbled and almost fell. She looked around at Mike and Jack. They stood over her looking confused.

"You ok?" someone asked. Shannon couldn't focus. She felt tired and her body felt heavy. She forced herself to her feet and looked around. the world seemed to blur and fade. She found a doorway and moved towards it.

She felt someone pulling on her. "Let go." She said, her words slurring.

"Relax." the voice said. It sounded familiar. Shannon tried to pull away again. She could here more voices around her.

"Is she ok?" "Help me get her up!"

Shannon felt herself hit the backseat of a car. She strained to open her eyes. She felt so tired. Eddie was sitting in the front seat of his car. Amanda was caressing her head in the back seat.

"Eddie?"

"You're going to be OK. Shannon."

"Don't tell Fredrick."

Everything faded out.
