Shannon Ressurected!

Well, that took no time at all!

Here's the next segment of Shannon's Story!

Glad I managed to get it all sorted in such short order!

Shannon had skipped her business class and found her way to the English room before everyone. She didn't know there was no class before hers so the room was empty. She found her way to her seat and sat there moping with the lights off.

Shortly before class started Mr. Wilkison turned on the lights. He looked at Shannon for a moment and went about his business as if she wasn't there. The bell rang and students piled into the class.

"Well, good job, Baker." Aberdine said as she sat down at her seat. "It looks like your little confrontation with Cassie actually did some good."

"It doesn't feel like it did." Shannon hadn't lifted her head from her desk yet.

"Brighten up. After you showed Cassie some compassion a lot of her supporters switched sides. They think she should've forgiven you. Now they want Amanda to be the queen bee."

Shannon looked up at Aberdine. "What do you mean?"

"You've made Amanda, and yourself, even more popular by choosing not to fight Cassie." Aberdine smiled. "It's so brilliant, I wish I thought of it."

"Does that mean you'll be popular because I'm popular?"

"God I hope not." Aberdine laughed.

"Hey what are you two talking about." Amanda set her bag down and leaned on Shannon's desk. "You doing ok?"

"I'm fine. Apparently I'm popular." Shannon smiled.

"No you're not." Amanda patted her head and sat down. "Besides you don't want to be popular. You have to deal with people like, Cassie."

"But Aberdine said..."

Aberdine kicked Shannon hard under the table and shook her head.

"Hey, Shannon. How's it going?" Jeremy said as he took his seat. Shannon just smiled and gave a thumbs up. "That's good. I heard about all the thing's Cassie has been saying. I'm sorry about her. She can be kind of a jerk sometimes."

"Sometimes?" Aberdine scoffed.

"That's OK, Jeremy. At least people know who I am now."

"That'a girl! Turn a bad situation into a chance for a joke. That's she Shannon I know."

"Speaking of Cassie." Amanda interrupted. "I notice you're eating lunch with her a lot. What's going on there?"

"Oh, that." Jeremy rolled his eyes. "She won't leave me alone. It's really annoying. I'm glad we don't have any classes together. It's like she's obsessed."

"You could eat lunch with me." Amanda suggested.

"You could eat lunch with US. Aberdine corrected.

"Shannon, you gonna be there? I never see you at lunch."

Shannon shook her head. "I have 3rd period, lunch. Not forth."

"How'd you get to class before everyone else then?" Jeremy asked.

"My business class was cancelled." Shannon lied.

"Settle down everyone. Class is now in session." Cried Mr. Wilkinson. The room fell to hush as Mr. Wilkinson began. They were beginning their Shakespeare portion of the curriculum. Despite all the bad things that had happened recently Shannon was feeling hopeful for the future. She'd forget about Cassie and focus on school. She was looking forward to learning Romeo and Juliet at least.

The bell soon rang for the end of the day. Students immediately started to pack their bags to leave. "Remember!" Mr. Wilkinson called out to the students rushing off. "Starting tomorrow will be the group presentations for the novels you and your partner have been reading! This is worth 30% of your final mark so make sure you're absolutely prepared!"

Shannon and Jeremy looked at each other with terror in their eyes. Neither one of them was anywhere close to prepared.
