Shannon

Today's is very short but mostly because I'm having trouble connecting this part to the next. I have an idea of where I'm going next but not exactly how I'll get there...

It's parts like these that will be heavily edited when writing a full novel-length story, I figure...

"Oh man that was brutal!" Jeremy brushed his hand through his hair.

"It wasn't that bad." Shannon said as she sat down on the concrete step out front of the school. Amanda, and Aberdine joined her. "We got an OK mark at least."

"Yeah, just barely. I can't believe he bought it though." Jeremy laughed.

Shannon and Jeremy, in a desperate attempt to seem prepared, came up with a compare and contrast presentation before class. Mr. Wilkinson seemed to enjoy it and, after levying a few criticisms, told them they got one of the higher marks in the class. The highest mark (he told everyone) was held by Amanda and Aberdine.

Amanda and Aberdine had met the night before to discuss their assignment, both expecting the other to have done nothing for it. Their over preparedness for the worst gave them a lot of insight into each other's novels. Because of this they were able to come up with an amazingly in depth analysis of the two fictional worlds and their characters. Mr. Wilkinson may have been happy to witness such a well put together presentation, but it was Amanda and Aberdine who were smiling the widest at the end.

"I have to admit it, Queenie, I didn't expect you to come through on this one." Aberdine smiled. "I guess you're not so bad after all."

"Right back at ya, Black Adder." Amanda beamed.

"Hey!" Jeremy was suddenly excited "We should do something to celebrate! Let's go grab some celebration food or something."

Everyone nodded and murmured in agreement.

"We should invite Eddie and Carl!" Shannon chimed. "Just cause they're not in our english class, doesn't mean they can't celebrate with us, right?"

"Celebrate what?" Eddie came sulking down the front step looking like his usual dour self.

"Celebrating our awesome grads on our english presentation." Amanda said as she there her arm around Eddie and pulled him into an awkward headlock.

"We never celebrated my English presentation marks." He said after pulling away from Amanda.

"Well, we can do that now." Shannon nodded.

"I know the perfect place to go." Jeremy said as he started to run up the street. "They serve the best milkshakes!" he called back at them.

"Hey! Wait up!" Amanda sprinted after Jeremy. Eddie awkwardly ran after them.

"Looks like this is happening." Aberdine shook her head as she stood up and walked after them. "There's no way I'm running all the way there."

Shannon laughed as she followed everyone down the street.
