Shannon once more!

I know the blog entries are fewer and far between but that doesn't mean the blog is dead. I do want to do more for the blog I just have a lot of extra stuff to work on right now.

In the mean time, enjoy another Shannon entry!

The school bell rang and signalled the end of the day. As students filed out of the hallway Shannon stood in front of the familiar door to room 1408. She took a deep breathe and opened the door.

The room was empty.

Shannon looked around confused. The Event Planning Committee should be here. This was their room.

"The Event Planning Committee was disbanded by Cassie, remember?" came Aberdine's voice from behind.

Shannon turned, a little surprised by her friend. "Huh?"

"When you didn't show up out front like normal I figured you'd be here." Aberdine said walking past Shannon into the room.

"So you came to find me?" Shannon said.

"Not entirely, no." Aberdine admitted. "I miss the Event Planning Committee too." she said pulling a chair from a desk and sitting down in the dark.

Shannon pulled up a chair and joined her. "So, there's no more Event Planning Committee?" Shannon asked feeling more than a bit saddened at the thought.

"For now." Aberdine said. "When I'm student council president I'll resurrect it."

"What if you don't win?" Shannon asked.

"Oh I'll win alright." Aberdine said. "Not only because I'm the best candidate but because I'm the only candidate." Shannon stared unsure of what was being said. "Jason Olinger dropped out today. I'm running unopposed." Aberdine explained.

"Oh! That's great!" Shannon jumped up with excitement and hugged Aberdine. "You'll be the best student council president ever!"

"Yeah, I know." Aberdine gloated. She sighed and looked at the ground. "I just wish it was more of a victory. No one in this school really cares about politics."

"I'm sure it's just a temporary thing. I mean, remember how many people came out to your debates?" Shannon reminded her. "It was all because of you! You made them take notice, at least initially. I'm sure you can make them take notice again!"

Aberdine smiled. "Thanks, Shannon." She stood up, hugged Shannon, and walked to the door. "Come on, Eddie and Amanda are waiting for us."
