Poetry

A small poem today.

The more I try to settle my life,
The more the world piles on the strife.
The holiday season is finally here,
But everyone's not filled with holiday cheer.
I'm happy to see all my friends faces,
But my bank accounts not in the best of places.
I've scraped and saved for the past year,
Just so I could put my plan into gear.
But everyone else has plans of their own,
And none of them want to leave me alone.
I won't compromise my plans for a trip.
So forgive me but I'm abandoning ship.
