It's Thursday! It's time for Shannon!
"You can't just jump into a candidates debate and start throwing around accusations Ms. Desmarais." principal Mason scolded Abderine.
"But they're the truth! It needs to be heard so the student body doesn't elect another fraud!" Aberdine protested.
"She was just standing up for me." Amanda chimed in. "She's my campaign manager."
"So am I." Shannon added.
"Ms. Baker you don't need to be here." principal Mason pointed out.
"I was just trying to show the students that Cassie was lying to them. She's bad for this school! She's bad for everyone!"
"That's enough!" bellowed the principal. "Regardless of what you were trying to achieve only candidates can participate in the candidates debate. There are strict rules to this."
"What if Aberdine ran?" Shannon asked.
"Then I'd be candidate and this won't be a problem in the future." Aberdine said.
"The deadline to submit names for candidacy has already passed." The principal said.
"What if she took over for a candidate?" Amanda asked.
"She would need the candidates approval."
"She can take over for me." Amanda said.
"What? Why!?" Shannon turned to Amanda. "I thought you wanted to do this."
"Come on, Shannon. We both know Aberdine is way better at this than I am. She spent her entire March Break planning our campaign."
"But we need you to run. We need the name of someone who the students will recognize." Aberdine said.
"What if I official announce my passing of my candidacy to you. And endorse you?" Amanda suggested.
"It could work." Aberdine tapped her chin and paced around the office deep in thought.
"Ladies. I still haven't approved this." principal Mason said.
"Please, principal Mason!" Shannon begged. "Aberdine's really passionate about politics. You can't tell a student they're not allowed to live their dream."
"I can't tell them that, no." principal Mason said trailing off.
"You have to let her run. I already said I was fine with her taking over. You said yourself we need the candidates approval; and I approve." Amanda said.
"If Ms. Spencer is willing to relinquish her candidacy I suppose..."
"Plus a lot of the students who came to see the debate liked it. This could be the kind of motivation needed to get others interested in politics." Aberdine added.
Principal Mason stood for a moment in thought. He finally sighed and nodded. "But if I hear you're behind any kind of rabble rousing you will be removed from running. Do I make myself clear?" He said.
The three girls nodded in unison.
"Good." said principal Mason. "I'll allow Ms. Desmarais to run. You may all leave my office."
The three all left quickly, thankful for the opportunity they were given. As they walked out of the hallway Shannon noticed Cassie sitting on a bench looking positively terrified. As they were about to leave the school, Shannon could hear principal Mason's voice.
"Cassie Hudson. We need to speak about talk what you decided for prom."
