Something a little more substantial

I've been poeming it up here lately, so I wanted to give you guys something a little more substantial.

A few words before we get to today's entry. Don't judge! I'm not a musically inclined guy! This is mostly an experiment because, well, I love musicals and want to (someday) write one. And if I do, I promise there will be a revamped and reprised version of this song

The Friend Zone

Arianna: Good night, Johnathan

Johnathan: Good night, Arianna

Arianna shuts the door to her apratment and Johnathan stands outside in the hall for a minute.
 
Johnathan: *sigh*

Arianna don't feel depressed,
Compared to other girls, you're best!
You're well read and very smart,
And you have the biggest heart.
You know you're always dressed in style,
And you have the sweetest smile.
But you have this little quirk,
The guys you like to date are jerks.
And I know you want to throw a fit,
But I'm just sick of hearing it,
I don't mean to bitch and moan,
But right now I'm in the friend zone.

I've known you since we were 8
When I was with you It was great
We're BFF's since forever
But that doesn't matter whatsoever!
In high school I was in shock
When you chose to date a jock!
Then in college you were shy
Because you thought that you were bi
Some dirt bag walks by and its "whoosh!"
You're dating HIM, but he's a douche!
I don't mean to bitch and moan
But I hate being in the friend zone!

Just being with you is its own reward
But feel lately that I'm ignored
Why can't you see that I'm your guy?
If this keeps up then its goodbye!
And I don't mean to bitch and moan;
