The next few days will be kind of ART intensive at Dueling Passions, so I'll be taking advantage of that to just throw up a few poems or limericks. Plus it'll give me an opportunity to get inspired to write something else!
My son wants a Pony
When I was little me and Dad would arm wrestle all the time
We'd play baseball, football, soccer and the fun was all sublime!
I'd run and play with my friends all day in the grassy green fields!
And come sundown every night we'd all run home for our meals
So imagine my surprise when my 8 year old son, Tony
Came to me one day and said he wanted a My Little Pony.
Incredulous I stood and stared agape at my little boy
Stunned in shock that he would ask for such a girly toy.
I cursed and shouted and screamed and stamped and said "No Son of mine!"
Will ever play with a girls doll!" And he left with a "Fine..."
I thought that was the end of it. I thought this was all done.
But this pony problem manifest in more ways than one.
Music, art and written word all poured from his mind
For these little pony toys of which his heart so fondly pined.
I tried to stamp this behavior out and just when I thought he'd crack
I entered his room and found it covered with pictures of Applejack.
Mother said "Buy the doll and leave him be! Love our little Tony!"
So that night I went to Walmart and bought a My Little Pony.
My son was never happier than when I accepted his obsession
He said that someone should write to Princess Celestia of my lesson.
He grew up and kept the doll and always took it with him.
To College, his travels around the world and even to the gym.
Now he works in show business and makes a lot of money
And I couldn't be prouder of my son because
HE'S STINKING FILTHY RICH!
