Story 1

As promised today I have 2 stories for you! They'll be in 2 separate posts.

Interesting story today.

Little Sean Schmidt

In a small northern town there is a toy shop. A very peculiar toy shop. It sells unusual toys for not so unusual girls and boys. But the most interesting part of this shop was not the peculiar play things, but rather a mirror that sat in the back.

In the back corner of the store sat a mysterious mirror with magical powers. It looked just like any other mirror. It had a wooden frame with a rather lack-luster pattern. This unassuming mirror had a very odd affect on people.

One day little Sean Schmidt and his father walked into the store. The clerk greeted them and Mr. Schmidt and the clerk went on to talk about the unusual merchandise in the unusual store. Sean wandered off to look at the toys.

The aisle all loomed over the little tots head. Teddys and Dolls and figurines all perched on shelves waiting for someone to snatch them away. A child's dreamland. little Sean Schmidt kept wandering and zig zagging in and out of aisle until he came to the back corner of the store.

There, in the corner, stood the mirror.

It loomed in the corner like a dark and mysterious stranger. It seemed to tilt downward in a menacing way as if to challenge little Sean Schmidt to look away. Eyes fixed, little Sean Schmidt stood in bewildering terror.

There in the mirror staring back at him was not a replica little Sean Schmidt, but instead an angry odious old man. Not the kind of respectable scrooge you'd imagine but instead a kind of homeless sort. Little Sean Schmidt raised his hand and pressed it to the mirror. The man in the mirror pressed back.

Little Sean Schmidt looked around to find his father. No one was around. He couldn't hear his father or the shopkeeper. Looked at the mirror.

"Hello." he moused.

"Little Sean Schmidt" The mirror hissed, "you will end up like me one day."

Little Sean Schmidt shook his head. He was going to be an astronaut. He knew that much to be true.

"Little Sean Schmidt" continued the mirror, "loyalty will ruin you. Your friends and family will leave and you will be me. Never trust anyone."

Little Sean Schmidt was getting quiet scared indeed. He wanted to turn and run. He wanted to call out to his father, but instead he stood, transfixed.

"Little Sean Schmidt" the mirror moaned, "you must never forget what you have seen today."

The man in the mirror stood up and reached towards the child. Frozen in fear, little Sean Schmidt stared in horror as the hand drew closer. The hand of the man in the mirror reached, beyond the seam of the mirror, beyond the frame towards little Sean Schmidt and grabbed his shoulder.

"Aaaah!" shouted little Sean Schmidt, squeezing his eyes shut.

"Did I startle you sport?" Came the voice of his father. Little Sean Schmidt opened his eyes and saw his father there with his hand on his shoulder. He looked back at the mirror to see his own face, and his smiling fathter with hand on his shoulder.

"Did you see anything you like?"

Little Sean Schmidt shook his head.

"Oh well, maybe another shop then. Come along."

His father took his hand and began to lead him out of the shop. Little Sean Schmidt looked back at the mirror and could scarcely hear its beckons.

"Little Sean Schmidt, never forget...."
