Our story continues!

This next section of Shannon's story comes to a close! But there's still more to come! Enjoy the next segment after the break!

"He cried!?"

The surprise in Amanda's voice raised it by an octave. Shannon couldn't help but laugh at this. "I feel a bit bad for him. He kept crying. He spent the week in his room."

"Well, at least he wasn't bothering you all week. Your Uncle is coming today to take him home, right?"

"He supposed to be. I don't know though." Shannon had a nagging feeling that Uncle Arthur wasn't going to show up this week either.

"Why wouldn't he?"

"I don't know. I think somethings going on here. I'm not sure what but I have this bad feeling."

"I have to go, Shannon. I'll call you next week! Let me know what happens, OK?"

"Ok, bye!" Shannon hung up and went to the kitchen for a drink.

She walked by Eddie's room and noticed his door was wide open. He must've finally left his room. She walked to the kitchen and found him sitting at the table with a glass of milk and cookie.

"Um, Hi, Eddie!" Shannon tried to sound as casual as possible.

Eddie just glared at his cookie.

"You feeling better?" She asked genuinely concerned.

"What do you care?" Eddie murmured.

"You're my cousin. I have to care." Shannon immediately wished she chose her words more carefully.

"I'm not your cousin. You're not a Baker."

"Well neither are you!" Retorted Shannon. Eddie just looked away and continued to glower. Shannon quietly got herself a glass of milk and sat across from Eddie. "Uncle Arthur is coming to take you home today, right?"

"Arty won't come."

"I'm sure he'll come!" She lied, "Aren't you excited to go home finally?"

"Why would I be excited? Mom and Arty are just gonna spend all their time talking about the stupid baby and how great he'll be. And when they finally have the dumb thing it'll just 'baby this' and 'baby that!' Like I want to sit through THAT mush!" Eddie punctuated his sentence with a farting noise then went back to sulking.

"You don't want to have a baby brother?"

"Half brother! And who wants some dumb baby around anyways!"

"Are you worried they won't love you anymore?"

"No thats dumb!" Eddie shoved his cookie in his mouth and looked away.

Shannon knew what that was like. She moved next to Eddie at the table. "You can always stay with us instead. Meredith and Fredrick are great. And having you around isn't THAT bad!" She tried to make it sound as nice as possible.

Eddie looked at her with tears in his eyes. "What do you care? You hate me!"

"I don't hate you. You're a pain in the but, but I don't hate you." Shannon actually believed it as she said it. Sure Eddie was really annoying, but he hadn't REALLY been bothersome since he moved in with them.

"Why are you being nice to me?" Eddie was starting to cry.

"Us non-Bakers gotta stick together!" She joked. Eddie hugged her and didn't let go. Shannon lightly patted him on the back feeling a little too awkward herself. She noticed Fredrick and Meredith watching from the door. She didn't know how long they had been standing there but they looked happy.

That night Uncle Arthur called to let them know he would be there tomorrow to pick up Eddie. Eddie had packed his bags and set them by the door. When Arthur came he quietly put his things in the trunk of the car and said goodbye to every and gave Shannon another hug before he left.
