A short segment to be added today!
Not much to say about this one. I can't wait to continue writing this, Maybe (if I have time) I'll stick the next segment in on Sunday.
Shannon tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Amanda and Eddie to show up for lunch. She ran to their meeting spot eager to tell Amanda about her new friend Aberdine.
Eddie came walking up the hallway that he and Amanda always walked up. Amanda was no where to be seen.
"Where's Amanda?"
"She was invited out to lunch with some new friends of hers. She said she'll tell us all about it tomorrow." Eddie grumbled.
"Oh. I guess its just you and me then?" Shannon and Eddie walked silently to their usual lunch table. Before they sat Shannon noticed Aberdine leaning against a wall in the cafetorium eating by herself.
"Hey, Eddie? Do you mind if I invited Aberdine to eat with us today? You know, since Amanda's not?"
"Who's Aberdine?"
"She this girl in my math class that I talked to today! She's into art and all sorts of crazy stuff! Thats her over there!" Shannon pointed to Aberdine who seemed to be trying her best to blend into the white wall despite her black attire.
"She looks like she wants to be left alone." Eddie observed.
"She always looks like that." Shannon walked over to Aberdine without waiting for Eddie's reply.
"Hey, Aberdine! Want to eat lunch with me and my cousin?"
"You and your cousin go to the same school? That must suck." Aberdine remained planted in her spot.
"We've always been in the same school. It's actually kind of neat cause I know I always have someone to count on!" Shannon smiled cheerfully.
"One day I'm going to have to teach you to glower." Aberdine said as she stood and followed Shannon to the table.
The three ate their lunch in awkward silence. Eddie seemed to be the most uncomfortable. As Aberdine finished her sandwich she crumpled up her garbage and tossed it haphazardly towards the garbage bin set up at the end of the tables.
"Well, thanks for that, unique, experience."
Eddie frowned. "You're welcome." he announced as sarcastically as he could. Aberdine just rolled her eyes and walked away. When she was out of ear shot Eddie turned to Shannon. "She seems like a jerk."
"She's just, very..." Shannon sought hard for a word to aptly describe Aberdine but instead fell short.
"I don't like her." Eddie said.
"You don't know her!" Shannon retorted.
"Neither do you!" Eddie shot back and with that he threw out his garbage (and the rest of his sandwich) and left.
