No time for flavor text I'm off to bat country!
(word of interest, I wrote this on my phone)
As the rain pattered on the window jacob stared out at the passing scenery. He hated taking the bus. Especially at night.
The warm heated comfort of the bus was the only thing keeping him from
going crazy. There were few other passangers on the bus making it feel
all the more isolating. Jacob had sat at the front so he would be the
first to get off.
"hey bud! Why you so down?" the driver asked. He smiled showing an incomplete collection of coffee stained teeth.
"im not a fan of the rain." jacob lied.
"it could be worse," the driver said, "you could be walking. You oughta
smile more." The bus driver leaned over and dropped his voice to a
whisper "the ladies love a man who smiles."
"ill take that under advisement" jacob replied tursely, and he turned his body away to look out the window some more.
A few moments of silence past before the driver spoke again.
"for a guy that hates rain you sure are watching a lot of it."
"are you this friendly with all your passengers?"
"only the interesting ones."
"so im interesting to you?" jacob asked.
"you look like a man whose seen a lot of trouble in his time." the driver said. "not necissarily yours, just, trouble."
Jacob nodded thoughtfully.
"what do you do?" asked the driver.
"im a private detective." said jacob. "retired. You've got a good eye."
"thank ya."
"you ever see trouble on your route?"
The driver was silent a moment. "no." was his sombre reply. "i don't see anything."
