Shannon

Another small installment of Shannon today.

Shannon must have one hell of a poker face....

"So you just quit like that?" Eddie said in shock.

"Yep." Shannon tried to hide her smile. "I didn't want to but I had to do something for the group." She sighed and took a bite of her sandwich.

"I can't believe you called her out on not meeting the other groups. Thankfully Eddie's such a dork he's in not only the math and chess club but the sci-fi club too." Aberdine laughed.

"He's not." Shannon said to the surprise of Aberdine. "Eddie didn't join any clubs. I just called her bluff."

"Wow. Who knew you had it in you." Aberdine playfully jabbed Shannon in the shoulder.

"I'm surprised you didn't quit sooner." Eddie shrugged and continued to eat his lunch.

"I didn't want to leave the group with even less help than they already have." Shannon turned to Aberdine. "I'm sorry, Aberdine. I know you only joined the group to hang out with me."

"That's fine. The group is disbanding anyway." Aberdine casually mentioned.

"What!?" Shannon said startled. "Why!?"

"After you left Cassie closed us down anyway." Aberdine explained. "But we're still a group until after the Valentines dance. Which I hope your coming to!" Aberdine pointed a french fry at Shannon. "Now you can spend the night hanging out with me the way I always hung out with you. It's payback."

"Of course I'll come help you." Shannon said. "I don't want to miss the last event the group ever plans." She sighed deeply. "I'll miss those guys. This is Beth and Ben's last year in the group."

"Don't worry," said Aberdine, "Damien said we can reform next year when we have a new student council president."

"Unless Cassie is still student president." Eddie pointed out.

"We should probably do something about that." Shannon said turning to Aberdine. "You seem to know a lot about our schools goings on. How do we get Cassie out and someone else in."

"Well," Aberdine began, "first we need to find a candidate. Someone willing to run against Cassie and someone whose not afraid of hard work."

"What about Eddie? He's smart and he could run." Shannon turned hopefully to Eddie.

"No way! I'm not president material." Eddie protested.

"He's right. Not enough people know who he is." Aberdine shook her head. "We can think of candidates later. We don't need one until March Break anyway. That's the deadline for Candidate submittal. In the mean time, I just want to focus on this dumb dance."
