Murder Mystery Part 2

And now, the exciting NOT conclusion to the murder mystery!

Seriously, did you think it was only 2 parts long? What kind of murder mystery is only 2 parts long? haha! It has to be at least 3!

Avery knocked on the door to hotel suite 21, the room Adam Conway was staying in. A moment later Adam opened the door a crack.

"Yeah?"

"Adam Conway?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm Avery Simmons. I'm investigating the death of Kimberly Douglas. Can I come in?"

"Um, sure."

Adam looked around nervously and admitted the detective. Avery looked Adam up and down. "Just get out of the shower?"

Adam frowned and looked down defensively at his towel. "I can't find my favorite shirt or pants."

"So why not wear something else."

Adam shook his head. "I only brought two pairs of cloths and the others are dirty."

Avery looked around the room. Women's cloths, probably Kimberly's, were strewn everywhere. It appeared as if Adam had no other cloths to wear. "I just have a few questions if you don't mind."

"Uh, not at all, take a seat." Adam sat on the bed next to a pile of dirty women's cloths. "What do you need to know?"

"A lot actually." Avery pulled up a chair and sat down. He procured from his pocket his writing pad and monogram pen. "You and Kimberly were in a relationship, correct?"

"Yeah, Kim was the best. There's no other girl in the world like her."

"Especially not now."

Adam glared at Avery. He probably deserved it. "She was special man. I don't know how anyone could harm her. She was the best."

"Such a special girl I can see why you'd want to take her here for a few days."

"Well the trip was supposed to last for a few weeks, but..." Adam trailed off unable to finish the sentence.

"So can you tell me what happened last night?"

"Well, we got back to our hotel room after dinner, they served this delicious crab and..."

"Shrimp cocktails on the side, I know. I was here. I'm actually staying in the resort myself for a few days. Could you tell me what happened when you got to the hotel room."

"Well, we. Ya know."

"Had sex."

"Yeah. We were going to call it a night but Kim wanted to go watch the sunset on the beach. I just wanted to sleep. We got into a fight and she stormed out. I went to the rec. room to cool off, play a few games of ping pong with a guy I met there called Paul. You can ask him, he'll tell you I was there."

"And when did you come back to the hotel room."

"I dunno, maybe 11?"

"And Kimberly wasn't back yet?"

"No."

"Weren't you worried?"

"Like I said, we had a fight."

"And now she's dead."

"You think I did it?"

"That's not what I said."

"But you were thinking it!" Adam stood up and stared angrily at Avery. Avery remained still as a stone, pen poised above his pad. "I'd never do anything to hurt Kim!" Adam started to rummage through the cloths. He found a dirty t-shirt out of a pile and pulled it on.

"That's all Mr. Conway." Avery stood up and put his pen and pad away. He started to walk towards the door.

"Good!"

Avery stopped at the door and turned around. "Just one more question." Adam looked back with anger. "If you were planning on staying here a week or two why would you only pack two pairs of cloths?"

Adam grinned. "I wasn't planning on us wearing a lot of cloths if you know what I mean."

"I do." Avery smiled and left.
