A short intermission.... not really an intermission.
It's just a shorter segment of the murder mystery, think of it as a supplemental chapter.
The place was a mess. Cloths were strewn about, the mattress was flipped, the dresser was smashed, blood was everywhere. And in the middle of this mess was Glen Endritch. Avery sighed.
"Two murders so close together. Do you think they're connected?" The young officer on duty asked. He might not have been the brightest but he was certainly spirited.
"Yeah, I think they're connected." Avery rubbed his eyes. "Glen Endritch said he had photographic evidence of who murdered Kimberly Douglas."
"He had a picture of the other girl being killed? Brutal." The young officer seemed to beam despite the situation.
"What was your name again?"
"Daniel, Daniel Watson! I'm new."
"I can tell."
"Wow really? You must be an amazing detective!"
"Thanks." Avery turned and started to walk away. Daniel followed like a love sick puppy.
"So what now Mr. Simmons?" Daniel jogged to keep pace with Avery.
"You should tape off the crime scene to keep civilian's from contaminating it."
"Oh, right!" Daniel rushed back to the hotel room. Avery shook his head. He was a good kid, if his enthusiasm wasn't a bit annoying. Avery stopped and rested against a palm tree and gathered his thoughts.
With the death of Glen Endritch things were complicated. Whoever had murdered Glen was still in the resort. They may or may not be the same person who killed Kimberly. Glen said he worked for the man who killed Kimberly and that there was proof on his camera. Avery looked back at the room. Daniel was struggling to set up a police line.
"Daniel! Do me a favour! If you find a camera or any information about Glen Endritch let me know!"
"Ok, Mr. Simmons!" Daniel saluted dropping the yellow "Do Not Cross" tape. He fumbled a bit picking it up.
Avery turned back and headed to suite 21. He needed to sort some more things out with Adam.
The fastest route took Avery past the beach where Kimberly's body washed up. They police and hotel staff had worked quickly to clean it up, the beach was still empty of tourists. Avery almost walked by but stopped when he noticed a member of the hotel staff picking something out of the water.
"What do you have there?" Avery walked non-chalantly towards the staff member.
"What? Just some trash! All those tourists throwing garbage in the water. Do they think these beaches clean themselves?"
"Isn't it easiest to clean at night?"
"What? No! All of it is washed away! The only way to keep it clean is to walk through here constantly. Otherwise it just gets washed away. I tell you, some people don't give a shit." The staff member picked up another broken cocktail umbrella and threw it into the garbage bag he had.
Avery was puzzled for a moment. He was sure it was easier at night for some reason. Avery shook his head, he'd figure it out later. He turned and headed back to Suite 21. It was time to figure out what was going on with Adam Conway.
