Murder Mystery Part 9

Phew! I barely managed to write today! I had a lot of little things to take care of but I got them done in time to write a bit. Now, we continue the next exciting installment of Detective Avery's Detective Adventures!

Ok, that's not SERIOUSLY the title!

Avery shut the door behind him only to find his path blocked by the chipper waitress from before.

"I'm sorry. Were you here to see Adam?"

"Yep! I knew him in high school, when I saw he was here I just HAD to get him alone so we could catch up! It's been so long! I wonder how much he's changed since then!" The chipper waitress seemed overly eager to talk to Adam.

"Well, he's been through a lot, so I'm sure having an old friend around will cheer him up, miss..."

"Christine. Christine Prim." She smiled and shook Avery's hand. Avery smiled and awkwardly walked on leaving Christine to knock on the door.

No immediate suspects, no motive, and no murder weapon. This case was shaping up to be a real nightmare. What should've been open and shut has started to drag into the later hours of the day. Speaking of later hours, Avery hadn't eaten since brunch. His stomach growled loudly. It must be time for a break.

Avery sat down to a quiet lunch in the corner of the restaurant away from the other guests. He needed to mull things over and find a new plan of attack. If nothing turned up soon this investigation could run dry.

As Avery took a fork full of caesar salad Officer Daniel Watson sat down across from him.

"Hey, Mr. Simmons. I did some digging around on Glen Endritch and found something interesting out."

Avery wanted to tell Daniel to give him a minute to chew his food but Daniel continued on.

"As it turns out, Mr. Endritch was working for this very hotel. He's paid to take pictures of tourists having fun. All part of some media set up to grab the attention of prospective customers. He's paid a pretty penny too."

Avery swallowed hard, determined to get a word in. "Interesting" was all he mustered.

"I asked around, some of the people in the hotel said he and the current manager had a fight the other day. Something about avoiding certain areas last night."

"Excellent work Daniel. If you find anything else come tell me."

"Thanks Mr. Simmons!" Daniel beamed. He got up and practically skipped out of the restaurant. Avery smiled and left his unfinished lunch on the table. A minute ago he was looking for another angle and now he'd found it. Hopefully this will bring the breakthrough this case needed.
