Free Verse 25

I don't know if this is the actual 25th free verse on here or not. It was just kind of poetic.

Today's poem was actually inspired by something I read earlier. You can find the link below

It's a long read, but worth it.

The original poem was actually lost, I had to re-write what I could from it. It's mostly all there...

Our world is 4.54 billion years old
(that's 90,800 Reaper cycles)
And we still can't get it right!

Great civilizations have risen to great heights
Almost heaven-like in capacity
Utopian by design
But they all failed for the same reasons

Overpopulation
Clear Cut Harvesting of Crops
Refusal to adapt

Like mice we suffer from our first death
But only notice our second death
Let the pretty ones groom themselves
in Universe 25

With all our technology
And our infinite wealth of knowledge
Why can't we find a creative solution?
To our UNIVERSAL problem?
