Did I mention I love writing this story?
Just a short section today!
"Who is she? How did you meet? What's her name? Do I know her?"
Shannon was determined to find out as much as she could about this mysterious girlfriend Eddie claimed to have. Eddie just rolled his eyes.
"Can we just walk to school quietly?" He pleaded.
"Why wouldn't you tell me about this!?" She asked getting a little upset.
"It's no big deal." Eddie walked faster trying to get away from Shannon.
"It's a big deal to me!" Shannon chased after him until Eddie gave up a few feet away. He was really out of shape. "Just tell me. You know I'll find out eventually."
Eddie huffed and puffed for a bit on the spot. He eventually looked up at Shannon. "Ok. It was a lie. I was just saying it to shut Derek up. He was bothering me about being single so I lied and told him I wasn't."
Shannon considered this for a moment. Either Eddie was admitting he had an ego, or he was lying, and Eddie rarely ever admitted to having an ego.
"Nope. Not buying it." Shannon said finally. Eddie threw his arms up in defeat. "I'll find out who she is, you can't hide this from me forever, Eddie." Shannon walked off formulating a plan.
"So I figure I'll run to Eddie's classes and tail him around the school all day, and then I'll tail him home to see who all he talks to." Shannon was unveiling her nefarious scheme to Aberdine who looked less than stoked.
"I don't have to be a part of this do I?" She asked nonplussed.
"Well, no. But don't you want to find out who he's dating?"
"As much as I'd like to see the girl who has such low self esteem that she'd date a toad like Eddie, I just don't care."
"Well, I'm gonna find out." Shannon turned with determined attention to the clock. Class was almost over.
"Please do. And when you do just give me the crib notes." Aberdine jibed as the bell rang.
Shannon shot out of the class like a bolt of lightning. She immediately found Eddie's class and hung around at a distance. As the last of the students filtered out Eddie came out with a group of boys. They all were laughing and talking. Shannon couldn't hear what they were saying over the noise in the hallways.
A few of the boys parted ways and went up the hall past Shannon, the rest followed Eddie to their next class. Shannon snuck close to the classroom door to see where Eddie sat. Somewhere near the back surrounded by the boys from his other class.
Shannon rushed off to her class. She was late but she didn't mind, she knew her plan required some sacrifices. And as the bell rang she once again fled to Eddie's class to follow him.
The same boys that followed him to class followed him out. They said goodbye and walked their own ways. Eddie was walking alone. Shannon kept a few paces back watching him. When it came time for Eddie to head to his next class he took an unexpected turn away from it. "This is it!" Thought Shannon. She followed silently hugging corners and doing her best to keep out of sight.
Eddie walked in a round about circle and stopped at a locker, not his own. He waited for a few second when a girl finally came up. She smiled and waved at Eddie. The two talked for a minute. The girl was twirling her hair in fingers. Shannon could tell she was smitten. "This MUST be his girlfriend!" she thought, except that he seemed completely uninterested.
Eddie tapped on the locker and the flirtatious girl snapped out of it. She opened her locker and took out a stack of paper. Eddie took the paper and turned around and headed straight towards Shannon. Panic seized her and she ducked into the first classroom she could find shutting the door behind her.
"Shannon!?"
