A small, but very important, segment to Shannon's Story!
Aberdine sat in the cafetorium studying for her Health exam alone. She sat at a lone table in the back corner, her book spread eagle in front of her. She hated Phys. Ed. and this Health exam was a joke. They only had it so they could make Phys. Ed. seem more important than it was.
Amanda approached Aberdine and took a seat next to her.
"What do you want, Prom Queen?" Aberdine sneered.
"Cool your tongue, Black Adder!" Amanda snapped. "I'm here to propose a truce."
"What? Not used to people just fawning over everything you say?" Aberdine said in a mocking tone.
"I couldn't care less what you do or say. You don't know me."
"I know your kind!"
"What? The smart kind?"
Aberdine shut her book and was about to leave when Amanda grabbed her arm.
"Wait!"
"Let go of my arm." Aberdine glared at Amanda with all the contempt she could summon.
Amanda let go. "Look, I want us to stop fighting. For Shannon."
Aberdine thought for a second. She sat down again and turned to face Amanda. "I'm listening."
Amanda took a deep breath and composed herself. "Look, I'm not saying we should become super best friends forever or anything. I just think we should try and get along whenever she's around."
"If I recall correctly, YOU started the last fight." Aberdine folded her arms and leaned back.
"It doesn't matter," Amanda waved her hand to dismiss it, "I'm talking about from now on. Are you willing to at least TRY to be nice whenever Shannon's around?"
Aberdine thought about it for a minute before she answered. "You want me to try to be civil around Shannon, and when she's not around I can go back to hating your guts?"
"Yep."
Aberdine paused for a moment. "And Shannon doesn't know about this?"
"Nope."
"Alright, Queenie, you got yourself a truce."
"Great!" Amanda said as she put out her hand to shake on it. Aberdine smiled wickedly, spit on her own hand and shook Amanda's before she could pull it away.
"See you in the exam, Queenie." Aberdine wiped her hand and gathered her things and left.
