More Shannon!

So it's Thursday! Which is Shannon's story continuing!

I started to think about where I am in the story and how much further I have to go. It's crazy. I wonder how many pages the unedited first draft will be when I'm finished?

"Having Phys. Ed. right before lunch is torture." Shannon lamented to Eddie as they waited in line for the cafeteria food. Shannon had forgotten to pack a lunch she was so excited to get to school today. "I'm sooo hungry!" She moaned.

Eddie just rolled his eyes. "If you weren't in such a rush we wouldn't have forgotten our lunches. Now we have to wait in line just to have some slightly warmed food." Eddie crossed his arms in disgust. "The food at this school is terrible."

"I know, I'm sorry." Shannon apologized in the cutest voice she could imitate. "At least we get to each lunch together." Shannon smiled broadly.

"Luckily for you I bring my wallet with me everywhere." Eddie boasted.

"So does that mean your paying?"

"Fine."

"Thanks, Eddie!" Shannon hugged him and turned back to the line in front of her. "So you never told me who you're dating." Shannon said non-chalantly.

"And I never will." Eddie replied just as cool.

"Ah-HAH!" Shannon shouted pointing at Eddie. "That proves you have a girlfriend because last time you said you were lying and didn't have one!"

"Maybe I'm lying now." Eddie smiled smugly.

Shannon was going to retort but stopped. "Well played." She narrowed her eyes. "I'll find out who this mystery girl your dating is. Just you wait."

"Shannon, I'm serious when I said it was lie to shut Derek up."

"But that could be a lie to cover up the truth!"

"That's crazy!" Eddie cried. "Who would lie about not having a girlfriend?"

"You always try and defend your lies and the way you keep insisting you don't have a girlfriend is just more evidence to support my theory." Shannon smiled triumphantly.

"Just move up already, It's almost our turn to order."

Shannon and Eddie walked up and ordered two hamburgers and a large side of fries with gravy. Eddie paid and they immediately found a seat just inside the cafetorium to sit down and eat.

"This isn't over, Eddie. I'm going to find out who this girl your dating is, and why you're hiding it from me." Shannon said as she sat down to eat.

"What about? How's things going with you and Jeremy." Eddie made a mockingly sweet tone as he said Jeremy's name. Shannon turned beat red.

"Shut up!" She hissed. "I don't know if he has this period lunch! He might overhear you!" Shannon bowed her head so her hair covered her face. Her eyes darted back and forth for any sign of Jeremy.

"Relax, no ones paying attention. Plus, how many Jeremys go to this school?" Eddie stuffed his face with his hamburger almost devouring the tiny thing in one bite.

"Good point." Shannon sat up again and thought for a moment. "I just haven't had much chance to talk to him. I mean, the first time we even talked to each other was at exams. I was too nervous about failing that I didn't even say anything."

Shannon thought back to her exams and how Aberdine had spoken for her when she couldn't. She hadn't seen Aberdine all day and didn't know her schedule. Shannon wondered if she'd ever see Aberdine again.

"I wonder what Aberdine is doing." Shannon thought out loud.

"Probably sitting in a corner blending into the shadows." Eddie jibed.

Shannon couldn't help but chuckle at the idea of Aberdine fading into the shadows. It seemed so perfectly like Aberdine to try.

Shannon shook her head and smiled. "You're terrible, Eddie."
