Shannon Supplamental Chapter 2

I like writing supplemental chapters. It informs the reader/audience of what's going on without revealing it to the protagonist. Especially in a story that's very focused on one charter, like Shannon.

Anyway, some more Amanda and Aberdine antics after the break!


Amanda sat down on her usual fourth period lunch at her usual spot. The only difference is all her usual friends had gone out for lunch. So today she was eating alone.

Amanda sighed and was about to take her first bite of lunch when Aberdine slammed down in the seat across from her.

"Good, you're alone." Aberdine said looking around to make sure no one saw her sitting with Amanda. "We need to talk."

"Black Adder, how nice of you to join me." Amanda's mock welcome didn't phase Aberdine who pulled out a text book and set it up between them.

"Shut up and listen, Queenie. We both need to get Shannon and Jeremy to hook up." She said from behind the text book.

Amanda rolled her eyes at Aberdine's childish display. "Why are you hiding behind a book!"

Aberdine's head shot up from behind her text. "It's not a book. Its a text book." Her head dipped back down immediately.

"My mistake." Amanda said, rolling her eyes again.

"We can both agree that Shannon's not making any progress in class, right?"

"Right." Amanda tried to peer over the text book to see Aberdine. Aberdine tossed a Cheetos at her from behind the book.

"Don't look over the book!"

Amanda rolled her eyes again. She had a feeling there would be a lot of eye rolling involved in this conversation.

"So we need to force her and Jeremy into situations outside of class."

"Yeah, I suppose. We can't force them to have lunch together because Jeremy has the same lunch as us." Amanda looked off at a nearby table where Jeremy sat with a group of boys joking around.

Aberdine snapped her fingers from behind the book. "Focus!"

Amanda pulled the text book flat onto the table. "What!?"

"What are we going to do about Shannon and Jeremy?" Aberdine stared hard at Amanda.

Amanda smiled "Don't worry, Black Adder," she said as she stood up scooping her food up with her. She patted Aberdine on the head and walked away saying "Amanda's got a plan."
