I'm not in a writing mood lately. I just want to sleep a lot right now. Maybe I'm sick....
Anyway. Just a small Shannon segment today.
Shannon dragged herself out of business class half awake. She wasn't sure what she thought it was going to be, but she expected it to be more interesting than that. She yawned, stretched and headed off to her final class of the day, English.
The second she stepped foot into the classroom she was surprise hugged by Amanda.
"Reunited and it feels so good!" Amanda sang at the top of her lung spinning Shannon around. Shannon smiled nervously while a few friends of Amanda's laughed at the display.
"Hey!" Shannon finally mustered. "Where are you sitting?"
The desks were all set apart and in rows. Amanda pointed one in the back row. Shannon bee lined for the empty desk to its right where she staked her claim. Amanda sat down next to her and smiled. Shannon couldn't help but smiling. It was like old times. Two best friends hanging out at the back of class.
"Is this seat taken?" Aberdine asked as she set her back on the desk in front of Shannon.
"Aberdine!" Shannon cried overjoyed. She stood up and gave her a hug.
"Yay. Aberdine's here too." Amanda said with a lack luster tone.
"Ok, ok. I'm happy to see you too, Shannon." Aberdine peeled herself away and took her seat.
"It's this awesome! We get to be in class together! All three of us!" Shannon couldn't be happier. Amanda and Aberdine looked at each other and just rolled their eyes. "Well, I'm happy."
"I'll bet you are." Aberdine smiled wickedly as she watched the door. "Look who just came in." She pointed at a the boy who just walked into class. Jeremy.
"Jeremy?" Shannon squeaked and slid lower into her chair.
"That's Jeremy huh?" Amanda looked over in curiosity.
"Hey, Jeremy! There's a seat available over here!" Aberdine shouted pointing at the seat in front of her.
"Aberdine! What are you doing!?" Shannon hissed.
"Just putting you closer to the boy who saved you during your math exam." Aberdine grinned.
"You never told me about that." Amanda said to Shannon. Shannon blushed and slid deeper into her chair.
Jeremy walked over looking unsure of what to say. He nodded at Aberdine and smiled before sitting down in front of her.
"I'm going to kill you, Aberdine." Shannon whispered.
"No you're not." Aberdine whispered back.
After class Aberdine and Amanda waited with crossed arms outside the classroom for Shannon. Shannon was drilling the teacher for information on the course and how she could ensure herself a good grade.
"For the last time, Miss. Baker just work hard and turn in your homework on time and you'll do fine." The english teacher, Mr. Wilkinson, told her before walking briskly away leaving the classroom door open.
"No luck, huh?" Aberdine said as she leaned on the door frame.
"What were you thinking making Jeremy sit nearby! Were you trying to embarrass me?" Shannon snapped at Aberdine.
"Yeah, not cool, Aberdine." Amanda chastized.
"Shut it, Queenie." Aberdine snapped at Amanda. "Relax, Shannon. I'm doing you a favor."
"How so!?"
"You went on and on about Jeremy in math class! How you didn't have a chance to talk to him, wanted to get to know him better, how you wished you had another class with him. And yet when he was standing right next to you in line for the math exam you clam up!" Aberdine uncrossed her arms.
"Well, she does have a point." Amanda agreed.
"What? How can you agree with her!" Shannon turned on Amanda.
"If you can't even talk to the boy you need more exposure to him. It'll help you become more comfortable with him being around and make you more confident when you speak to him. Guys like confidence, trust me." Amanda winked.
"I never thought I'd see the day where you two would agree on anything." Shannon pouted that it had to be about her and Jeremy.
"When it comes to you I'll always do what's best. Even if it means siding with Black Adder over there." Amanda gestured to Aberdine.
"Love you too, Prom Queen." Aberdine snarked. "Besides," Aberdine continued, "if he can calm you down enough to focus on your math exam he can't be all bad for you."
"Fine. You're both right. I need to spend more time around Jeremy." Shannon admitted defeat. "But I'm still mad you did that! A little warning next time would be appreciated."
"If I warned you, you'd just tell me not to do it." Aberdine picked up her bag and started to walk home. "See you guys tomorrow."
Shannon sighed. "Well, I guess we should head out too."
Amanda seemed lost in thought for a moment. "Yes, let's." She said almost drone like.
"What's wrong?" Shannon asked a little concerned.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head about it, Shannon." Amanda tussled Shannon's hair and skipped off happily.
