Some buildup to Sunday...
I'd write more but I have to run to work now.
"What kind of cruel monster schedules Phys. Ed. before lunch?" Amanda moaned as she sat down with Shannon and the others. "It's like they're trying to make my life a living hell."
"It's not that bad." Shannon said patting Amanda on the back. "At least we have lunch together still."
Amanda smiled but said nothing.
"You seem more cheerful." Aberdine said to Shannon. "Finally coming to terms with this whole Jeremy disaster?"
"No, not really." Shannon admitted. "I'm just not dealing with it right now."
"I thought you were going to call him." Eddie said.
"I'm going to. I just don't know if I'm ready to yet." Shannon admitted. "I just need to have some fun and forget about it for now."
"I'm down for some fun, but what are we going to do?" Amanda asked. "It's not like we could throw a party or something."
"It doesn't have to be a party." Aberdine added.
"Aberdine's right, we could just go somewhere fun. Maybe this weekend?" Shannon looked at the others waiting for suggestions.
"We could go shopping? Shopping is fun." Amanda offered. Aberdine stuck out her tongue in disgust.
"I'm not falling for that one again." Eddie rolled his eyes.
"Well what do you suggest." Amanda elbowed Eddie in the ribs playfully.
"Laser tag!"
Everyone at the table groaned in unison.
"Fine." Eddie pouted.
"All the arts and theatre events happen during the summer around here. The only one that happens during the school year doesn't happen until near Christmas." Aberdine lamented.
"We could just go see a movie." Shannon said. "I mean, we're all still too young so we can't do a lot but the movies are all ages!"
"Yeah, but nothing rated R." Aberdine pouted.
"That's not necessarily a bad thing." Amanda said. "Not all of us want to see blood and gore, Black Adder."
"But that's the best part." Aberdine grinned.
"Why don't we check what's playing and then settle on something we all wouldn't mind seeing." Eddie said. Everyone nodded a little in agreement.
"So it's settled!" Shannon announced. "This weekend we'll go see a movie together! Just the four of us!"
