Shannon Story!
It actually takes a lot of work to co-ordinate school schedules. Also a lot of hard work to remember what my life was like in high school and what courses I took.
I really should've kept up with Computer Engineering. I liked that class...
Shannon's summer had passed, for the most part, unremarkably. She had called Aberdine a few times and even met up with her once. She had tried calling Jeremy but she always got a busy signal. Amanda came back from vacation only a few weeks before school and they caught up on and spent their free time together. Eddie was gone the entire summer and wouldn't be back until a few weeks after school had started. All in all Shannon was happy to get back to school.
She raced up the front steps to her waiting friends. Amanda was there with a small posse of friends (Jasmine included) and Aberdine stood idly by. Eddie was, of course, absent for now. "Hurry up!" Shouted Amanda as Shannon closed in. "I want to sync our schedules!"
Shannon whipped out a folded piece of paper and handed it to Amanda. Aberdine sauntered over and handed hers to Amanda as well.
After a minute of surveying them she tisked loudly and handed them back. "Only lunch." She said finally.
"Shannon and I have Art together at least." Aberdine pointed out.
"And I know Eddie and I have the same History class." Shannon added.
"Looks like you're the black sheep this time." Aberdine jeered at Amanda. Amanda stuck her tongue out in retaliation.
"I don't get it." Jasmine moaned. "I took all the same classes at you and we don't have any classes together!" Jasmine looked over her and Amanda's schedule's distraught.
"You know they randomize when you get the classes, right?" Aberdine snarked at Jasmine.
"Watch the bite, Black Adder. She's sensetive." Amanda gently took her schedule from Jasmine. Jasmine pouted and muttered something to herself.
The bell rang and everyone began to rush off to their classes. Aberdine sighed heavily. "I'll see you in Art." she said as she walked off toward shop class and mechanic wing.
"Walk me to class?" Shannon smiled at Amanda.
"Sure, my math class is just above your English class so we're headed the same way anyways." Amanda and Shannon linked arms and headed out. Jasmine followed at a pace.
As the other students rushed past Shannon felt more at ease. The busy halls of the school somehow felt comforting to her. Not to say she didn't enjoy the relaxing summer holidays, just that she enjoyed working toward a goal more than she enjoyed relaxing.
"I wonder what this year will hold for us." Shannon smiled. "I can't believe we're already in our second year of high school, can you? It's so exciting!"
"Personally I could use more sleep." Amanda yawned.
"I'm just excited to see everyone again. I didn't see Jeremy or Aberdine at all during the summer. I wonder if I have any classes with him." Shannon stared off dreamily.
Amanda stopped walking.
"What?" Shannon turned to face her. "What is it?"
"You don't know?" Amanda asked looking a bit nervous.
"Know what?" Shannon asked.
"Jeremy and Cassie are dating now." Jasmine added non-chalantly. "They're the cutest couple ever!"
